Ah At last
This is one of the most appropriately named places you can stay in Harbour Island. You discover it far from the hustle and bustle of the commercial area of the island, at the end of a pleasant drive, along a road thick with treesin Triana Shores. You won't exclaim "Ahhh.. at last!" because the drive is so long, but because from the instant you arrive, the spot is so welcoming -- with a view of the ocean, steps away, and the lush intrigue of the round tropical garden! It forecasts a beautiful respite in the same way that a whispered promise from an endearing loved one fills you with hope.
The apartment is accessible by a sturdy wooden staircase, above the owner's private home. Although the beach is within sight on the ground level, you get a much better view from the second floor apartment.
The
rich colors and textures of the walls, the art, and the furniture are
a classy mix of contemporary, mixed with a hint of Mexican hacienda incluence.
The master bedroom with a queensize bed has a view of the ocean, and the
second bedroom offers the versatility to use the bed as one larger-than-king-size-bed,
or to separate into two double beds. The living room has a comfy sofa
that opens into a queen size bed. If you have children traveling with
you, a roll-away bed is also available.
The kitchen is almost too cute to cook in, but does offer full amenities: a new gas range/oven, a microwave and a full-size refrigerator.
It also offers cable tv, a CD player, and an outdoor bbq grill on the wooden deck.
But beyond the beautiful comtemporary surroundings and the proximity
to the beach, one of the positive features of this rental is the charm
of its owner, Miss Teejay, an outstanding, warm human being, the local
resident hair stylist, and who seems to have missed her calling as an
interior designer extraordinaire.
